Online Obedience Class-ON/OFF or the whole program!

During covid I could not hold classes so I had lots and lots of disappointed enrollees!!

Online instruction was born! . . . although not ideal, I figured zoom classes had to be better than nothing, and it turned out to be WAAAY better than nothing!!

Each date/time listed for the Group Obedience Class is a separate class and each class will meet once a week for 5 weeks, starting on that date and meeting weekly at that time. $300 per dog. When you enroll, please also email me a photo of you and your dog, so I can begin learning your names. For your 1st Class option, please choose the class time/location that you want, and then please also choose a 2nd option, just in case your 1st choice class is FULL, or not held due to low enrollment.

All classes are FULL when 30 students are enrolled. I will reply to your registration by email, and then I will contact you again before classes begin, by email and a phone call in an attempt to address your questions!

Please plan to pay the $300 class tuition at the first class, either by cash check or electronic methods. I will have a placard with pay site options. (There will likely be a fee for electronic payments.) I don't require or request prepayment. Your enrollment secures your spot in the class!

Once classes begin, all students are allowed to attend a different class time, if needed, each week. Ideally I want all students to have perfect attendance, so I encourage you to mix and match class times or "class hop" to accommodate schedule conflicts that arise now and then! You are also welcome to attend as many classes each week as you want for more practice with your dog!!

Class Details

Training Method

We train using 1 part correction and 2 parts praise. The "correction" is a yank on a training collar after careful instruction, placement and repetition. The "praise"is a wonderful reward, and works with the dog's natural desire to please. Please view the Handler's Manual.

Our Curriculum

Your dog will learn to obey the following commands, with hand signals, on and off leash:

HEEL – To walk calmly at your side, pacing himself to your speed, enjoying the scenery, but paying attention to you.
AUTOMATIC SIT – To automatically sit at the heel position when you stop.
SIT – To sit instantly on one command.
DOWN – To lie down instantly, either near you or from a distance, on one command.
STAY – To stay in a sitting, lying or standing position on one command.
COME – To come instantly on one command.
FINISH – To heel and sit at your side on one command.
STAND FOR EXAM – To stand motionless while being examined on one command.

Behavior problems such as jumping up, biting, chewing, digging, barking, fighting, separation anxiety, etc. are addressed in class.

We recommend that your dog be at least 5/6 months old and that they are current all vaccinations.

Each enrolled student will work one on one with Stephanie, at the students own pace, using recorded instruction zoom video lessons and personal feedback/engagement. The key to OFF leash success is a solid foundation ON leash, and TIME. Time to personalize the journey without the "time restraints/pressures/demands" of the rigorous weekly class schedule!
